LOOKING AFTER OUR WORLD TOGETHER

TONER CARTRIDGES
Once sorted, these are sent through a separation, shredding, and granulation process. The end product is dependant upon the material used, as outlined below:
HDPE/PS TONER BOTTLES
All residual toner powder is removed during the initial shredding process then separated into two grades of plastic, HDPE main body and PS cap, these materials are granulated and put through a wash plant. The materials are then ready for use as a raw material in the manufacture of other products requiring these materials; such as bottles, containers and pipework.

PET-PC BOTTLES
The same process as for HDPE/PS Toner Bottles is used. The processed material is often utilised in the manufacture of items such as lamp lenses, bottles and medical appliances.
TONER POWDER
This is collected into drums during the above process then run through a cleaning process to remove any foreign materials. Once processed and cleaned it may be used as a pigment and binder in, for example, the manufacture of safe flooring. Alternatively and dependant upon quality; some will be used in energy recovery via a Thermal Recovery Facility.

PS HI FR (17) PRODUCTS OR COMPONENT PARTS OF PRODUCTS
Using similar processes to those above, these can be mixed with other low grade plastics. Once processed, these can be used as a raw material for use in the manufacture of products where lower grade of plastic (mixed) is acceptable, an example of which being garden furniture.
